Kelly Griego-Skrypka spent her early years in Southern California, where her artistic interests were encouraged from a young age. As a child, she created signs and posters for neighborhood friends while also developing a passion for figure skating. That passion evolved into a professional ice skating career, during which she began to recognize the connection between drawing, painting, and the expressive movement of skating.

While touring internationally as a professional skater, Kelly studied and absorbed the work of master artists at institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The Louvre in Paris, and The Prado in Madrid. During a performance period in Spain, she studied Spanish Art History through Syracuse University and spent extensive time sketching and painting in the Prado and Reina Sofía Museums. She also attended still life drawing classes at Madrid’s Círculo de Bellas Artes.

Her skating career eventually brought Kelly to Las Vegas, where she now lives with her family. She continued formal fine art training in oil painting at the University of Nevada and Western Nevada College, further refining her technique and personal style.

Kelly has maintained a lifelong dedication to calligraphy, which has become a core artistic discipline. Her work has recently been commissioned for personalized envelopes, cards, and place settings by major Las Vegas hotels.

Influenced by extensive travel in Europe—particularly France and Belgium—Kelly has also expanded her practice to include tile mosaic design, from concept development through fabrication and installation. Working across oil, watercolor, mosaic, and calligraphy, her work focuses on enhancing spaces through color, texture, and movement, combining strong technical foundations with expressive freedom to bring a lived artistic sensibility to each environment.
